Ba Gua Basic Method: Before practicing Ba Gua Zhang, there is the Ba Gua Basic Method to learn.? In In EOE, the purpose of this Basic Method is to investigate the basis of posture in body dynamics, and the principles of motion (inertia and movement dynamics.) The Basic Method of a martial art represents its fundamental capabilities and fighting power; it demonstrates tactical thought, and is the basis of technique in defense, striking, and throwing/joint-locking.

Hand Method: The Hand Method is a design/plan for executing technique, and a map to guide the practice of movement. Unlike the linear movement of everyday life, Ba Gua Zhang has a structure that links wave motion and spiral motion. Therefore, its hand method must entail a study of three-dimensional spiral movement

Opening - Body Manipulation Method: The Opening is a Body Manipulation Method that begins the basic training. I practice the movement as confirmed by dynamics of posture, based on body mechanics.

Basic Method (Crossed method): Crossing Method is for contacting and connecting with a partner. Crossing technique is the method of establishing a cross, while Crossed technique takes place after Crossing. Crossing technique is a defensive method that establishes contact. Crossed technique is a method of controlling the contact/connection.
Right & Left Shuttle Palm: The continual motion of both hands rubbing together reinforces the concept of connection once contact has been achieved. Right & Left Shuttle Palm enables development from point > line > surface within crossing.
Up & down Piling Palm: The contact of both hands initiating a piling cross (with Upper and Lower relativity of hands) cultivates an additive idea. Up & Down Piling Palm enables development of the conflict from defense outside circle > defense Inside circle.
Inside & Outside Drilling Palm:
The Three-Dimensional twisting/drilling of Inside & Outside Drilling Palm promotes the idea of a rotating-gear action, with front & back, top & bottom, and left & right turning, coordinated in a smooth motion.

Basic Method(Change Palm): Change Palm is the foundation of the palm method, which condenses the fundamental thought of Ba Gua Zhang. Change Palm contains the elements of up/down, right/left, and front/back, with a spinning/turning movement that creates Total Movement via the relativity of hands and feet.
Changing Palm Relative Method: Relative balance is the foundation of Whole Body Exercise. When the lower half of the body is fixed, partial movement of both arms can occur.
Changing Palm Angle Method: Angle is the basis of spinning/turning movement, which requires the coordination of angle and intention.
Changing Palm High & Low Speed Method: The comparison of High & Low speeds changes the energy and establishes the inertia of the exercise, leaving an after-image of the movement that stands out.

Ending Method

nding method: The Ending Method is performed at the conclusion of Palm Method practice. The energy developed outside of the body during movement is centered and stored inside the body, balancing breathing and intention.
