Up & Down Method (Pi Quan - Splitting Fist): Upright walking in three-dimensional space is accomplished in order of Up/Down, Right/Left, and Front/Back. Up/Down is the key element of standing erect, necessary to begin walking, running, throwing, etc. Practice of Up/Down method investigates and relates movement principle to human body movement.
